Clear objective: ‘Change hearts, minds’ re: homosexuality

A media watchdog group says the objective of homosexual characters on TV is simple — to normalize the dangerous lifestyle.

In a report released yesterday by the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, HBO and ABC scored highest among cable channels and networks in terms of homosexual characters on TV shows. Of 14 shows from HBO, ten had homosexual characters. Showtime came in second. Among networks, ABC ranked #1 with 24 percent of its shows featuring homosexual characters. (See related article)

Colleen Raezler of the?Culture and Media Institute?tells OneNewsNow the reason is obvious: to sell viewers on the idea of accepting homosexuality.
?
“Late in this study, GLAAD — the organization that did this study — says that by having gay and lesbian characters on there it offers, and I quote, ‘a meaningful opportunity to change the hearts and minds of people who may not have close LGBT friends or family members,’” she shares.

Raezler also points out the actors paint a positive, but false picture of the homosexual lifestyle.
?
“They don’t talk about the high rates of sexually transmitted diseases within the gay community,” she notes. “They don’t talk about the fact that their lifestyles are much more unstable; …they don’t have the commitment that married couples have or anything like that.” Nor do the programs acknowledge that homosexuals tend to live shorter lives, as statistics point out.
?
Raezler says the public should react by shutting off the television set in order to reduce ratings. That, she explains, reduces the price for advertising — a factor that networks understand.

Its time to turn off our tv folks…
