Washington (AP) – The Bible counsels misers that it’s better to give than receive. Science agrees. People who gave gifts to others or to charities reported they were happier than folks who didn’t share,according to a report in Friday’s issue of the journal Science.
It is funny to me that these scientists do this research that the bornagain Bible believer already knew for a couple thousand years.
2 Corinthians 9:7 – Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
Philippians 2:4 – Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
( Lord, help me live from day to day in such a self-forgetful way,
That even when I kneel to pray my prayers shall be for others.
Others, Lord, yes, others, let this my motto be.
Help me to live for others, that I may live like thee. )
